Overview:
Output voltage temperature coefficient is defined as the worst-case deviation,
in percent per degree Celsius, from the actual output value at room temperature
to the values measured at the extremes of the specified temperature range.
Procedure:
Set and verify the converter ambient temperature to the appropriate starting
point. Set and record the input voltage Vin and the output load Iout to
their nominal values. Change the temperature and allow the converter to
stabilize for at least 5 minutes at each temperature (Tmin and Tmax) before
recording new measurements. Measure and record Vout as appropriate.
The actual temperature coefficient may be markedly non-linear, so it is
often verified using the following three equations:
dVout/dT = (Vout(Tmax)-Vout(Tinitial))/(Vout(Tinitial)(diffT)) * 100 (%/C)
dVout/dT = (Vout(Tmin)-Vout(Tinitial))/(Vout(Tinitial)(diffT)) * 100 (%/C)
dVout/dT = (Vout(Tmax)-Vout(Tmin))/(Vout(Tinitial)(diffT)) * 100 (%/C)
